Kedarnath Temple is located in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand state. Kedarnath Dham is considered to be the symbol of faith of innumerable devotees. According to the Puranas, Lord Shiva appeared in 12 places for the welfare of the earth. He is worshiped in the form of 12 Jyotirlingas. Kedarnath is also one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva



It is also one of the four sacred shrines (Kedarnath Dham). Every year devotees go on a pilgrimage to this holy place to pay obeisance to Lord Shiva. It is believed that the grace of Lord Shiva remains on this temple and the devotees who come here to pay homage. It is believed that
This holy temple was built by the Pandavas of the Mahabharata. It was later rebuilt by Adi Guru Shankaracharya in the 8th century.
